Ball Bearing Inspection

JLI has developed vision technology for surface inspection of balls used in critical bearings. Inspection on curved and shiny surfaces is a real challenge, but it has been shown that a vision system with a special light source can do the job with great precision.

Critical applications such as ball bearings for helicopter rotors or jet engines need meticulous inspection. This is done by inspectors but it is highly desirable to use a vision system to ensure 100% examination and a reliable statistical record of defects.

JLI participated in the MEDTEC 2010 fair in Stuttgart, Germany on the 23.-25. of March. The fair was hugely successful and gave JLI a chance to say hello to many existing and potentially new customers. 

JLI brake pad inspection

JLI has started development of a brake pad inspection system for passenger trains. Control and inspection of trains warrant that brake pads are measured accurately before the train is released for service. The brake pad inspection system is the first system in a series of applications where dedicated JLI vision systems will be a key instrument in condition based maintenance.

JLI vision has recently delivered the first in a new series of inspection units for injection moulded parts. The systems inspect for geometry, short shots and finns on a number of highly critical plastic components. The customer - a world leading medical device company - has chosen JLI systems as their only quality control for these parts, and the systems have therefore been documented, tested and validated thoroughly.
